Susan Hendricks

Journalist and Author

Susan Hendricks is a veteran journalist with over two decades of experience covering some of the nation's most significant stories. She spent 18 years at CNN and HLN, where she anchored Weekend Express with Susan Hendricks, a live, five-hour news program airing every Saturday and Sunday. Her work connected viewers to breaking news, justice stories, and human moments that mattered.
During her tenure at CNN, Susan also served as the headline news anchor on Anderson Cooper 360, contributing to the show's coverage of major events across the country.
Her long-form work includes documentaries on high-profile cases like the disappearance and murder of Gabby Petito and the double homicide in Delphi, Indiana — reporting that reflected her thoughtful, compassionate approach to difficult stories.
In 2023, Susan released her first book, Down the Hill: My Descent into the Double Murder in Delphi. The book explores the 2017 murders of Abby Williams and Libby German, a case she followed closely for years. Her reporting helped elevate the national conversation around the investigation, and the book has been praised for its rare access, emotional insight, and focus on the families at the heart of the story.
Today, Susan is a trusted voice in the true crime space. She appears regularly on major programs hosted by Nancy Grace, Ashleigh Banfield, and Dr. Phil’s Merit Street Media. In 2024, she launched her YouTube channel, Headline Crime with Susan Hendricks, where she conducts interviews with key figures involved in crime stories — from family members and survivors to detectives and prosecutors.
Susan also speaks regularly at CrimeCon, where she has led powerful panels with guests like Kerri Rawson, daughter of BTK killer Dennis Rader, and Stacy Chapin, mother of University of Idaho victim Ethan Chapin. Her ability to build trust and tell stories with honesty and heart has led to exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes access.
